About Us
Our History
Formerly known as Middleton Baby and Child Care
Middleton Baby and Child Care opened in 2007 with one child in attendance. The program grew in the following years, including national accreditation and a new building, and is now licensed for 186 children. Since 2011, MBCC has partnered with the Middleton Cross Plains Area School District to offer 4K and also offers private 4K for full-time children from other school districts. As MBCC’s children grew older, in response to parents’ requests, school-age care was also added.
Spanish has always been part of MECC curriculum, and in 2015, the first Spanish immersion classroom began. MECC’s Spanish program has grown over the years, with more Spanish - speaking teachers on staff and more children benefiting from Spanish language experiences. The program has evolved into mainly Spanish immersion classrooms, with exception to our 4k classrooms which encompass school readiness and begin exploring more formal instruction in English.
In 2025 Middleton Baby and Child Care was purchased by 2 long term staff members and became Middleton Early Childhood Center, maintaining the core of Middleton Baby and Child Care.
Spanish Immersion
Our classrooms are Spanish immersion based for ages 6 weeks to 3 years and our 4's programs are English based with Spanish provided daily.
Spanish immersion means that Spanish is spoken to the children throughout the day with little to no English.
Every classroom has at least one Spanish speaking teacher.

The Pyramid Model
The goal of the Pyramid Model is to create an environment where every child feels good about coming to school. This is accomplished by designing classrooms that promote engagement in learning and by building positive relationships among children, families, and staff. In our use of Pyramid Model, our teachers work together to ensure that all children understand behavior expectations, receive instruction in social skills, and those who are struggling receive individual support.
Teachers receive coaching from fellow, trained staff members to support their growth, understanding, and implementation of Pyramid Model.
